This is something that I started writing when I was in my twenties, but which I started thinking about when I was about twelve. So it's got a certain amount of adolescent goofiness to it. Which isn't to say that I think it's not as good a story as it could be. I've spent a fair amount of time polishing it, and anything that actively hurt the story I've removed. But it. . . it's informed by the concerns I had as a teenager, and is interested in the sort of things I was interested in as a teenager.

Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't be making this available if I wasn't proud of it, and I wouldn't be making this available if it wasn't a good story.
